Massage in the age of COVID-19

Symptoms of COVID-19 Infection with SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, can cause illness ranging from mild to severe and, in some cases, can be fatal. Symptoms typically include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Some people infected with the virus have reported experiencing other non-respiratory symptoms. Other people, referred to as asymptomatic cases, have experienced no symptoms at all. According to the CDC, symptoms of COVID-19 may appear in as few as 2 days or as long as 14 days after exposure.

In order to create the safest environment possible, the following restrictions have been put in place for both the therapist and clients of Greene Massage and Bodywork, LLC.

Clients experiencing the following symptoms will be asked to reschedule their appointment:

• Cough
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• Fever
• Chills
• Sore throat
• New loss of taste or smell
• Unexplained rashes, swelling of the toes or fingers, unexplained bruising after having tested positive for COVID 19 prior

Please note: Other less common symptoms have been reported, including gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.

Clients who are feeling unwell for ANY reason prior to their appointment are urged to call and cancel their appointment. Late fees for late cancellations are being waived for illness.

At this time we also understand that COVID-19 can be spread from people who are asymptomatic. So we are asking clients that have encountered the following situations to also please reschedule.

• Tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days
• Knowingly been exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days
• Recently traveled to an area with a high infection rate in the last 14 days
• Been in an area where social distancing was not properly observed in the last 14 days

If there is an exposure incident linked back to Greene Massage and Bodywork, LLC, by keeping your appointment, you as the client agree to have your name and contact information released to State officials or their representatives who are tracing outbreaks of COVID 19. You will also be notified directly within 24 hours of the exposure being brought to the therapist’s attention by the owner of Greene Massage and Bodywork, LLC.

Your therapist has been fully vaccinated, and will be wearing a mask at all times with unvaccinated clients, in addition to observing universal precautions. If unvaccinated persons will be receiving intraoral work or face work which necessitates face mask removal, the therapist will also wear a face shield in accordance with OSHA standards.

All unvaccinated clients are required to wear a mask in the building and treatment room, unless asked to remove it for face or intraoral work, or when lying face down with a modified barrier. Anyone refusing to wear a mask will be asked to leave the premises and charged the full price of their appointment.

In between each client every surface is wiped down with a CDC approved disinfectant and the therapist’s mask is replaced.

Ample time has been allotted between each client to allow for thorough cleaning of the treatment room.

All clients are encouraged to bring the least amount of items possible with them into the treatment room.

For clients who prefer a hands free payment method, please contact your therapist prior to your appointment to receive an invoice. The invoice must be paid within 24 hours of the appointment, and is subject of a fee of 1% for every day payment is delayed following the appointment.

Credit cards will still be accepted at time of appointment as usual.
