Thai massage uses passive stretching and compression techniques performed over loose, comfortable clothing, in order to promote flexibility and range of motion.

The practice of Thai-Yoga Massage is thought to be thousands of years old and is still part of Thailand’s medical system due to its healing benefits on both a physical and emotional level. Traditional Thai massage was influenced by Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine, with a heavy focus on the idea that energy moves through the body along predictable lines or pathways known as sens. The receiver lies fully clothed on a cushioned mat on the ground while the practitioner uses rhythmic compressions and assisted stretching techniques to relieve tension and improve range of motion. The incorporation of whole body movements, many of which parallel yoga asanas, leave recipients of Thai massage feeling not only relaxed and peaceful but also energized and balanced.
